Mostly to stave off intense boredom over these past months, I have decided to start a blog and chronicle present and future cooking attempts. We all know I'm a major fatty, so it makes sense that I've been spending much of my free time lately taking the time to finally learn how to cook. I'll cook anything that sounds tasty, as long as it doesn't cost me an arm's worth to buy 10 new spices or a specialty cooking equipment only usable for one type of dish. Then again, give me another couple of months and I'll probably have doubled my spice and cooking tool collection.
What's my method? Most of my inspiration comes from hours of hard and arduous 'research' watching Giada and Paula and the rest of the Food Network shows until I see a particular recipe that rumbles my stomach and gets my lazy butt off the couch and over to Gristedes or Jubilee Market. I'm not pretending to be any sort of cooking expert here, and similarly I won't claim that the recipes and methods I use are original or the best out there. But I'm open to comments and tips and, of course, requests for homemade meals (from people I know) if you see anything on this blog that you'd like to try!
